Youth Arts Collective Summer Show 2024
Most of my art has some kind of narrative behind it, usually having to do with to a handful of creative writing projects that I’ve been working on for around nine years. Although recently I’ve been falling behind on said projects, and as a result my works lately are all self-portraits of sorts. The easiest thing in this world to express, for me, is myself- as I’m sure is true with many other artists.
Having experienced a bunch of brand new emotions and personal levels of awareness this year (adolescence, amirite?), the pieces I’ve created for this show specifically are about anxiety; forgiveness; uncertainty in the path I’ve chosen for myself; and, most importantly, growing older and realizing I can’t go back to a time where I had fewer responsibilities.
